"Policies are for people — not the other way around."

In organisations, we often overlook a fundamental truth: policies are designed to serve people, not to confine them. They are meant to evolve — to reflect the changing needs, challenges, and aspirations of our workforce.
When we begin to shape people to fit rigid policies rather than adapting policies to support people, we risk losing both empathy and effectiveness. A policy that no longer resonates with the dynamic realities of human resource management slowly loses its relevance — becoming a checkbox exercise rather than a living, enabling framework.
Let us remember: inclusion, flexibility, and context must be the guiding forces behind every policy. Only then can we foster an organisation that is not just structured, but also humane and resilient.
