Gentle Reminder to All Evaluation Committees
When we, as individuals or as a committee member, are entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating others, we are empowered to look beyond our immediate work areas and personal affiliations. This responsibility must be carried out with the utmost integrity, fairness, and sense of purpose.
It calls upon us to rise above personal preferences and be guided solely by performance, intent, and potential.
Any influence beyond this — whether it stems from personal comfort, regional familiarity, or social bias — is not just an ethical lapse. It is, in essence, a quiet injustice to merit, and may deeply undermine the morale and spirit of a sincere and committed individual.
Let us collectively strive to uphold a higher standard — one that honours merit above all.
Anything less would be a disservice to the values we are meant to uphold, and to the institution we represent.
